This year’s meeting Navigating the Changing Times provides bankers with much needed information and the opportunity to network with your peers from across the state. The meeting offers the expertise of the industry’s top leaders and regulators to help us design the strategy and tactics to help lead our industry and our country back to prosperity.

The venue for the event is Chateau Elan just outside of Atlanta. We know that it is still very important that we all be conservative with our resources. The meeting is within easy driving distance for our members and we have negotiated a hotel rate of $185.00. Industry experts at this years event include:

Dennis P. Lockhart took office March 1, 2007, as the 14th president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In this role, Lockhart is responsible for all the Bank's activities, including monetary policy, bank supervision and regulation, and payment services. In addition, he serves on the Federal Reserve's chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).

Albert C. “Kell” Kelly, Jr. is president and CEO of SpiritBank in Bristow, Oklahoma. During his 25 year tenure, SpiritBank has grown from a $40 million institution to assets exceeding $1 billion with 18 branches in 12 markets. Kell is a former chairman of the ABA Community Bankers Council and member of the ABA Government Relations Council. He was chairman of the Oklahoma Bankers Association in 2003 – 2004, and was elected ABA Vice Chairman at ABA’s convention in October of 2009.

Dr. Ed Seifried served as Professor of Economics and Business at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania for over 25 years and is currently Executive Director of the Sheshunoff Affiliation Programs. In addition, Dr. Seifried is the Chief Economist for m.rae resources, inc., a strategic and financial services firm for community banks.  He received his doctorate in economics and business from West Virginia University. 

 Dr. Seifried serves as the dean of the Virginia and West Virginia Banking Schools and is a faculty member of numerous banking schools including: Stonier Graduate School of Banking, and the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management. 

Dr. Seifried is a consultant to the banking industry, and is well known as a speaker at bank customer events and as a strategic planner. Dr Seifried is the author of the book “The Art of Strategic Planning for Community Banks.”  In addition to his academic and consulting experience, Dr. Seifried has also served as a director of a community bank.

Bruce Christopher is a practicing clinical psychologist, holding degrees in psychology and interpersonal communications. Bruce inspires audiences internationally by giving them real, immediate solutions and practical strategies for change and success without fluff and hype. Bruce has spoken at the prestigious Million Dollar Roundtable Conference, London’s Royal College of Surgeons, and the Mayo Clinic. When you are faced with morale issues, difficult people, change or need for teamwork, this psychologist is in!
